How to Plan the Perfect Honeymoon in Jamaica

Image
When you think of a honeymoon in Jamaica you should think of postcard-worthy white sand beaches, turquoise waters softly lapping the shore, and palm trees gently swaying in the breeze – that’s what a honeymoon is supposed to be, right? If this sounds like your kind of honeymoon destination, then you’ve come to the right place. Add friendly locals, tasty food, and a few rum punches and you have the perfect honeymoon spot in Jamaica. The island of Jamaica is a special place in the world for us. It was our very first international trip together and it’s where we decided to get married and start this crazy life of traveling we live now. There’s no doubt we love Jamaica, but we know once you visit Jamaica for your honeymoon, it will be a special place for you too. After 6 trips to the island, we created our guide to planning the best honeymoon in Jamaica. Follow these tips, sink your toes in the sand, and everything is going to be “Irie”! Ya man ...

Reason we LOVE Elements Playa del Carmen

Image
If we had a condo on the beach it would be in Playa del Carmen and specifically the Elements Condo. We’ve actually lived in Playa del Carmen for 5 months back in 2016 and it’s a place we keep going back to. Have you ever been on vacation and thought to yourself I could live here? Well for us that place the Elements Playa del Carmen. It really feels like a home away from home (even though it’s not our home lol). We first stayed at Elements in 2016 when Hannah’s parents came to visit us when we were living in Playa del Carmen and again staying in this penthouse. Bric Rentals has some of the best units in the building and we stayed in one of their penthouse condos with a rooftop. It’s the perfect place for families traveling with children, a bunch of friends traveling, or even a honeymoon in Mexico. Here are just a few reasons why we love staying at Elements Playa del Carmen: *When looking for the best price and biggest selection of hotels check prices on Booking.com, we’ve found...

The Greek Islands: Naxos

Image
The trip notes given to me at the beginning of my Intrepid tour through the Greek Islands referred to the island of Naxos as “the largest and most fertile of the Cycladic Islands.” It told me that I could expect to find “picturesque villages, Byzantine churches, lush valleys, ancient citrus groves, and wonderful beaches.” It all sounded a bit embellished to me, to be honest. So I went to Naxos feeling slightly skeptical, unsure of what I would actually find. What does the “most fertile” island in the Cyclades mean, anyway? All the others I had seen had been brown, brown, brown. I could hardly picture a “lush” one. In the end, the description WAS a bit embellished. There were no jungles overflowing with greenery, and I didn't visit any beaches in Naxos that were any more beautiful than those I visited on other islands. But you know what? It WAS greener. And it DID have picturesque old villages and ancient citrus (and olive) groves. Ove...

Kickass Peruvian Adventure with Free and Easy Traveler

Image
From dune bashing in a Martian desert to frolicking with alpacas, from an intense trek down a deep canyon to a hike up 17,000 feet , from star gazing in the midst of a sand dune to karaoke in a shady bar, from kissing furry llamas to dancing at a Burlesque themed Halloween party- Peru was surprising, shocking and downright smashing! I couldn’t have asked for a better, more intimate Peruvian experience than with the Free and Easy Traveler– a super chill Canadian adventure company! Dune bashing in this Mad Max-ish beast! What we love about FnEZ? Initially I was a bit concerned as I prefer traveling solo and the thought of doing a 20 day trip with 17 people was daunting to say the least. The only comforting factor was that out of the 17, 15 were Canadians and I’m sure most of you’d agree, Canadians are fucking awesome!! 😀 Apart from the Canadians, here’s what was awesome about the trip: Guides-  Our guides on the trip – Julian (for Machu Picchu) and...

Backpacking Georgia Travel Guide 2020

I’ll be the first to admit: backpacking Georgia was never something that I’d seriously considered. I’d only heard about Georgia in passing while researching the mountains of Europe. At the time, Georgia appeared to me a mysterious country, hidden away in the forgotten valleys of the Caucasus and sealed by the terror of post-Soviet civil unrest. It wasn’t until I visited Israel and happened to notice the cheap, convenient flights to Tbilisi (yes, I’ll abandon any anxiety and go anywhere if I can save a buck) that I decided to give Georgia a shot… Turns out backpacking through Georgia was an absolute blast, and soon after arriving I left all of my worries behind. The Georgian landscape is utterly breathtaking, and full of lush forests and epic mountains. The food is tasty, and the wine is some of the best in the world. Best...
