England’s Museums Have Never Been More Fashionable

This spring, England plays host to four exhibits focused on designers, couture, and iconic style. Plus, our Virtuoso insiders’ city guide to London. Kensington Palace Diana: Her Fashion Story at Kensington Palace displays many of Lady Di’s most memorable looks – such as the strapless velvet dress she wore while dancing with John Travolta at the White House in 1985. Through 2017. Chatsworth Chatsworth, a grand estate in the Peak District owned by the Cavendish family, has debuted House Style: Five Centuries of Fashion at Chatsworth. The exhibit, sponsored in part by Gucci and curated by Vogue’s Hamish Bowles, features sartorial gems ranging from the costumes of Tudor-era doyenne Bess of Hardwick to the personal effects of John F. Kennedy’s sister Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy and 1990s supermodel Stella Tennant. Through October 22.
